Fan that opens to a full circle and is made of off-white parchment and red, brown and green leather. The fan is rectangular when closed with the pleated body of the fan contained between an extension of the two handles. The fan is secured when shut by a leather strap with a toggle fastening. The leatherbound handles are joined at their ends by a leather loop and toggle. The parchment body of the fan is stitched to a rigid leather-carved frame extending along the sides when closed and the end. The parchment body of the fan is made up of two pieces stitched together. The stitching throughout is of leather thong. The decoration consists of geometric shapes cut into the strap. There is stitching in a contrasting colour on the sides and end of the closed fan. Multi-coloured bands of leather thong encircle or are woven around the handles.
