Description

A black jacket that has a border trim and a pattern on the upper portion of the back. Made of one folded black fabric piece, open at the front, with sleeves made from two fabric pieces. Border design around neck, chest line, lower border, and sleeve edges. Larger geometric design on upper back is made up of interconnected orange, yellow, and white triangles in a traditional diamond pattern with four horizontally extending lines. The border has a main design consisting of an orange diamond pattern row having white dots interspersed within and outlined by thin orange and white bands.

History Of Use

Worn by women daily. Adi garments, considered extremely personal, are worn all the person's life and left with that person at death. Traditionally, made for family members. Now, although the restriction in wearing another person's clothing is still prevalent, this is changing due to integration with a market economy.
