Description
Cotton, sleeveless and collarless jacket made from a single piece of red woven cloth that has been folded over and hand sewn at the sides. The front is open. White and red band of geometric, lozenge design woven on upper back, lower border and over the chest line. A small panel on upper back consists of four separate horizontal geometric-patterned bars in green and white.
History Of Use
Everyday wear for men. Woven by women. Worn open without buttons or closure. Adi garments, considered extremely personal, are worn all the person's life and left with that person at death. Traditionally, made for family members. Now, although the restriction in wearing another person's clothing is still prevalent, this is changing due to integration with a market economy.
