Description
Wood figure representing a female carved in the half-round with painted decoration. Skin is painted yellow. Has eyes, eyebrows, and a red dot mark in the middle of the forehead. Has a small red mouth. Has black hair in an arch shape decorated with white dots. Wearing a high round red headpiece decorated with white dots. Has a blue and red robe outlined in black and decorated with white tear drops and circles.
History Of Use
Wood toys are produced chiefly by artisans whose traditions include carpentry, stone cutting, and wood and ivory carving. Toys are also carved by women who use the proceeds from the sale for extra income.
