Print called "Russo-Japanese war nishiki-e broad picture no.1, a great sea battle outside the Port of Lushun (Port Arthur)". Naval scene, with men on deck, smoke and an explosion in foreground. Predominant colours are blue, green, black and orange, and yellow. Japanese characters at the top right corner indicate that it is an illustration of the Japanese navy.

This print is the right-side print of the triptych by Ito Seisai (伊藤静斎) and is entitled Nichiro kōsen nishiki-e ichi, Ryojunkō no daikaisen (日露交戦錦絵一, 旅順港之大海; Russo-Japanese war nishiki-e broad picture no.1, a great sea battle outside the Port of Lushun [Port Arthur]). The print has the title on the right. The MOA collection has two prints from this triptych (N2.1186 c), but lacks the print on the left with the artist’s signature, Seisai (静斎).
