Identified as Makah by George Heye. The style is also found along the west coast of Vancouver Island, Nuu-Chah-Nulth. The original European tribal names and, where possible, current tribal names have both been given in separate GLT fields.; The style and shape of this basket suggests it was made for sale to Europeans (G.Crowther).
