Description
Robe made from one piece of black satin, lined with red cotton. Open at sides and front with a narrow white collar. Two larger medallions at the chest and centre back as well as six smaller on the arms bottom back and bottom front, all with the same crane design embroidered in satin stitch with gold couching around head and eye. Two red cord ties attached at chest.
History Of Use
Worn by a doll, probably representing a court official. The crane with outspread wings and uplifted foot was embroidered on the robes of civil officials of the fourth rank.
