Basketry remnants with single handle in center of object. Portion with broad checker weave, and other with narrower checker weave. Rehoused 07/06/04, with one bag of loose debris from the object. I removed one museum tag with accn.# and object# on it (see archives). B. Avery. Information from field Basketry Card (see Archaeology Archives): Estimated Size: Probably Large Handles: Regular twisted variety attached to basket. Rim: Impossible to decipher. Body: Basic checker construction - coarse gauge about 2 stitches per inch - gauge seems to vary slightly. Bottom: None Provenience: blank Cut: blank Horiz. Loc.: blank Depth: blank Warp Max: 1.17 Warp Min: .97 Warp Mean: 1.07 Weft Max: 1.21 Weft Min: .81 Weft Mean: 1.04 Material: Split cedar Remarks: There are some small pieces of shell associated within parts of the basket.
