Description

Chinese hanging ornament. Design of bats, swirls, and Mongolian writing is painted in blue and glazed on front; similar design is raised on back of the ornament and not glazed. Orange string forms hanger above ornament with decorative knotted section and small woven bands above and below the knotted area. There is a piece of masking tape on the back of this section. The orange string goes through the ceramic ornament and has two orange tassels attached below the ornament.

Made for Muslims in China, in relation to Ramadan. Meant to be worn as a toggle at the waist.
