TOTEM POLE'S FRONT SIDE HAS CARVED HEAD MOTIFS BASED ON THE FORMLINE SYSTEM (PAGES 606-607, HANDBOOK OF N. AM. INDIANS, VOL. 7, SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION, 1990). FROM TOP: CROWNED HUMAN HEAD, BIRD'S HEAD HOLDING SOMETHING IN ITS BEAK; ANOTHER BIRD'S HEAD W/ WINGS FOLDED IN FRONT; FISH HOLDING ANOTHER FISH IN ITS MOUTH.
