TOTEM POLE'S FRONT SIDE HAS CARVED HEAD MOTIFS BASED ON THE FORMLINE SYSTEM (PAGES 606-607, HANDBOOK OF N. AM. INDIANS, VOL. 7, SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION, 1990). FROM TOP: CROWNED HUMAN HEAD, BIRD'S HEAD HOLDING SOMETHING IN ITS BEAK; ANOTHER BIRD'S HEAD W/ WINGS FOLDED IN FRONT; FISH HOLDING ANOTHER FISH IN ITS MOUTH. FLAT BACK SIDE HAS 3 LABELS: 1) "INDIAN (AMERICAN), TOTEM POLE (BRITISH COLUMBIA), CARVED STONE, 10" HGT, T, S 399.75, 99." 2) "H STADTHAGEN, THE INDIAN TRADER, 79 JOHNSON ST.
