Description

5+ Bag contains a rib of a large mammal (cow or elk), splinterd and broken. Written on original paper bag (in pencil): "Misc. Bone; Keith Thompson; 7/13/51; Site 9; 4" down in sand and shell towards N." Keith Thompson describes this site in his report entitled, "The Shell Middens of the San Juan Islands: A Geographical Survey" (1951). A copy of this report can be found in Burke Archaeology Archives.
