Description
A man's hairnet woven from black horse hair, which is twisted, knotted, and braided in various sections. Two elongated fabric hair ties hang from the netting.
History Of Use
Men wore these hairnets over their queues during the Qing Dynasty. They were required to cut their queues when the Qing Dynasty fell in 1911. The hairnet was worn at the front of the head.

Hairnet worn by Lore Neen, the donor's father, who was a well-known figure in Victoria, B.C.
