Description

Red robe with rounded neck, wide sleeves, side slits and centre opening with frog closures. On the upper front and back is a rectangular badge with a right facing mandarin duck, denoting a civil seventh rank official. Surrounding the duck are blue and white wave, sun, peony, bat motifs and a gold meander border on a red ground. On the front, back and sleeves are wave, peony and butterfly motifs in blue, white and green. The neck border has a prunus motif in blue and white on a black ground with a thin floral trim. The sleeve border has two bands; the same prunus motif with floral trim and a garden scene with figures in blue on a cream ground. The inside lining is blue silk.
