Description

Pink-faced mask with fin-shaped beard protruding from chin. Eyebrows, mustache, and beard are black; cheeks are pink; eyes are white lined with red with black pupils and lashes. Holes at mouth, nose, and between eyes and eyebrows; two small holes for hanging at each side; metal hook on chin under beard.

History Of Use

Santiago mask, used in the Dance of the Santiagueros. The Dance is a variant of the Moors and Christians and it had only six masked Christian soldiers, including Santiago, and two masked Moors. They represented pilatos, named after Pontius Pilate.
