This collection was donated to the Chilliwack Museum & Historical Society in 1994, upon which Ron Denman donated them to Sto:lo Tribal Council.
Mrs. Eleanor Kipp (nee Maurer) had the baskets made during the 1930s by First Nations women in exchange for some clothes and a few dollars. Designs varied according to pattern and shapes available from the basket makers.
