Description
Rectangle of light green rayon damask with two small floral motifs embroidered in shades of blue and outlined in metallic thread. Damask is woven in repeating patterns of pomegranates. The mirror image embroidered motifs are in the shape of peonies. Motifs are placed at the midpoint of the fabric, one at the centre of each half. Five Chinese characters written in black ink at one edge.
History Of Use
Such panels were used to make the ends of Korean pillows. The pillows were either round or square in cross-section.
