Description
A woman's multi-coloured woven belt with repeated geometric designs of red, green, and off-white predominating. Lined and stiffened with light weight white cotton duck. Fastened with a small brass buckle attached with a leather tab while the opposite end has a narrower strip that has a deisgn consisting or a red zig zag along the middle on an off-white background surrounded by a blue dotted line at either side and outlined with a horizontal red band.
History Of Use
A belt is worn at the waist, or low on the hips, with the tunic bloused above it. This forms a pouch where small items are carried. Women's belts are hand-made of bright folk weave or are appliqued in bright designs and are used to hold a needle case and other items for sewing.
