Description

Cylindrical, brown wood piece that has slightly flared ends. One end is flatter while the other end is more conical. The handle is carved with a horizontal row of chevrons at the end and a longer section of rough dots above while the rest is plain.

History Of Use

Double-handed clubs, or i wau, come in a variety of types, the bowai being one type. These clubs were used in close combat to bludgeon, or to defend by holding out in front, or in ceremonial dance.
