Very plain equestrian figure. The rider has a large head with very deep set eyes and upraised brows above with a long, thin nose. Has oblong ears and a smooth ridge of hair that extends across the front to the back. The neck is thick, and the stomach is rounded. The arms rest at either side slightly bent at the elbows. Has short legs. The animal is small with an oblong head and short, stubby legs.
Probably has the same function, divination, that the equestrian figure has among the Senufo, a related tribe; representing the ancestor of the community, he is consulted before any course of action is initiated which will affect the whole community.
