Description

Modified file with textured surface both sides. Tapers abruptly at one end, to short tip which is curved upward.

History Of Use

Used when making silver boxes. Reid would take a straight edge and draw the scriber down to score a line where each of the three bent corners would be. He would then bend the corners along these lines.

Specific Techniques

Made by machining the narrow end of the file down to a point and bending this point out the of the plane of the file.
