Description

Brown silk, jacquard woven tunic. The tunic opens on the right front, held together by two metal buttons on the shoulder and two on the side. The tunic has slits up each side as well as the centre front and back. Around the neck is a Mandarin collar. The pattern and border are slightly raised and more opaque than the background. The pattern has large circles containing a bird and an animal under a tree with a building in the distance. The circles are arranged diagonally on a background of clouds and endless knots. The border is along the edge of the sleeves, the bottom of the tunic and the side opening. The border consists of clouds, bats, flowers, swastikas and the symbols Xi (joy) and Ji (luck). The pattern and border continue on the back side. The inside lining is blue silk.
