Description

Mask made from cut out planks of wood formed in a triangular-like shape with flat sides, a thin adjoining nose piece and a rectangular shaped piece of wood at the back. Detailed in blue and orange Northwest Coast stylized forms is a wolf with rectangular shaped nostrils, bared teeth and large eyes. The mouth and eyes are inlaid with pieces of mirrored glass as well as other small sections. Protruding from the top edge of the headdress are numerous thin sections of baleen creating a fringe. The inside has two thin wooden strips attached to two larger bars to create a frame for the head. Covering the frame is a piece of cotton fabric. Fibre ties hang from the bottom edge.
