Description

Sitting, human-like clay figure. The head is round with protruding facial features, rings at the ears, and a long headdress with a spotted rim and scalloped centre ridge. In the middle of the chest is a hollowed-out ring. The left hand rests beside it while the right reaches toward the back, resting on top of a long scalloped vertical ridge running from shoulder to base. The figure’s knees are bent and between them is a rounded, protruding pelvis area. Several holes open into the hollowed figure, at waist and shoulder on each side, back of neck, and on the base. The object balances on two round feet and a similar projection at the back. Pigment decorates the feet, legs, pelvis area, arms, back ridge, face and headdress.
