Description

Gourd bottle with net and cover. Undecorated drinking gourd for carrying sake is tall, bulbous on bottom, narrowing toward mouth which is capped with a short wooden stopper shaped like a tree. Stopper has three Japanese characters scratched into the base. A woven carrying net (part b) loosely surrounds the gourd, with base woven into a star pattern. The neck of the net is made of a cord that loops through the stopper and creates a handle for the gourd to be carried by. Part c is a grey-green textured silk bag into which fits the gourd. It has a tan drawstring at neck.
