Description

Red-orange woolen scarf with multi-coloured stripes and designs. Twisted dark green fringe on both sides. Right edge has wide white border and left edge has wide orange border. Scarf length has twelve decorated bands, which have alternating red-orange and white backgrounds with stripes between the bands. Stripes are dark blue, light blue, light green, dark green, red, light orange and white. Patterns woven onto bands with a red-orange background done red, light orange, white, light blue, dark blue, dark green, light green and dark brown. Designs are diamonds, zig-zags and flower-like shapes. Patterns woven onto bands with white background done in dark blue, light blue, light orange, dark green and light green. Designs are geometric shapes and flower-like shapes.

Made for Brian Zapf by the King's royal tailor when he was a teacher in Bhutan in the 1970s.
