Description

String puppet of an old witch character. She wears a high-collared dress of a dark black and gold shiny fabric with flecks of gold throughout. The dress is has a woven pattern of black wavy lines that run on diagonals. The dress has large fabric patches in groups of two - red, yellow and black plaid, green and another red. Her legs are bare and she wears red shoes that are both carved to appear torn open at the toe. She wears a purple cape off the shoulder that is tied in front. Her face is very angular with a pointed chin, hooked nose, and narrow eyes. Her chin and nose both have a large wart. Her eyes are made of green irises with black beads for pupils. She has carved dark brown hair as well as an attached short length of hair which extends out from under a green head scarf. The jaw is hinged and movable revealing two teeth inside her mouth. Her hands, legs and face are carved. Two wooden control sticks are attached to her back by a long metal rod, secured to each other by a leather strap, with marionette strings attached to head, shoulders, hands and knees.
