Drawing reconstruction of an old Heiltsuk house-front painting, in horizontal orientation; done in pencil and maroon pencil crayon. Drawing is of two birds shown in profile, bodies facing the left side of the print. Birds are divided by a wide maroon border; short edges of drawing bordered with identical bands. Birds are crouched with their legs tucked in front, and wings spread out behind them; similar formline design elements throughout their interiors. Overall drawing has a rectangluar outline with a horizontal line through the centre, going overtop designs. Title, date made, and artist signature written in bottom right corner.
Drawing is based on a Heiltsuk house-front photographed in 'Qelc (Old Bella Bella) at McLoughlin Bay, Campbell Island, 1873. (See photographs in "The Transforming Image", page 68; also see page 69, Fig. 3.9.)
