Description

Blue robe with rounded neck, slender sleeves, hoofed cuffs and side opening with frog closures. There are side slits in the sides, back and front. On the front and back are five-toed dragons and bat motifs and various Buddhist and Taoist symbols in white, red, yellow and green on blue ground. There is also a ‘walking dragon’ on the inside flap. The collar band has dragon, bat and cloud motifs in gold, red and blue on a black ground. The sleeves are gold and brown striped with dragon, bat, wave and cloud motifs on the cuffs. Some details are woven in ‘vicious violet’ Ko-ssu throughout the garment. The inside lining is light blue silk.
