Description
Gold streaks and blue bamboo-like leaves on black background. End of sash at beginning of roll is a seam. The other end has Two sets of parallel gold bands and a plain black seamed edge. One edge running the length of sash is seamed, the opposite edge is folded.
Cultural Context
it is used to wrap around the waist to hold the woman's kimono firmly in place. it can be tied in many shapes indicating the status, age and rank of the wearer.
