Long strand of ostrich eggshell beads of uniform size, interspersed with short pieces of brown reed. Strung on sinew and tied at the end with a strip of brown leather, which also ties the strand together in eight loops.
Beads are used for decorating many items. Pieces of shell are painstakingly drilled and strung on sinew by grandmothers in seasons of plenty. A valued possession.
Pieces of ostrich eggshell are drilled by the same process used for starting a fire with a fire stick.
