Switch Prop1704/2

Cantonese Opera prop. Stem switch is two pieces of stem bent in half and bound with a strip of stem material. A small piece of string also binds two of the stems at the bound handle. There is a loop of cotton fibre that has been knotted. The loose ends are split and frayed. One of the frayed ends has been completely severed from the bottom of the bound handle. Another has been partially severed from the bottom of the bound handle.

Embroidered collar with four petal-like sections. The petals are outlined in black around the edges and in the centre. Each petal section has an eight-point flower in the centre, scalloped side patches and a crescent patch at the tip. The petals patches are multicoloured. The backs of three petals are orange fabric; one is pink fabric.
