Round, dark brown teapot with a short, circular spout opposite a small ceramic handle. Metal wire is strung around the centre of the teapot; two wire handles run parallel to each other, attached to the metal rigging at the front and back of the teapot.
Plain grey cloth with blue embroidery. Five round scenes of pots holding different flowering plants. Common element in all is tassel to right of vase. Vase to left of center has ivy leaves, vase to left of center has two phoenixes. Vase at right end has fern-like leaves. Between middle three rounds are butterflies and flowering vines. Between end two rounds is table with potted flowering plant. Embroidered border on all three sides of repeating landscape of pine, willow, flowering and fruiting trees, grass, fish, boat with fisheram, bridge with person, animals, phoenixes, pagoda.
Long metal sword made from linked coins and secured with brown fibre. Top of sword has a flower-shaped composition of coins and is connected to a long row of stacked coins. A larger rectangular-shaped composition of coins follows and is linked to a long line of double-sided single overlapping coins. Attached to the top of the sword is a short brown fibre strand and a flat grouping of coin.
Small white jar with flat base, tapered sides, short neck and narrow mouth. Around the neck is a petal motif. On the sides is a stag and leaf motif. All designs are blue on white ground.
Long bundle of braided stem-like material; unbraided, flaring and slightly blackened at bottom. Bound in six places with twine. Twine loop for hanging at top.
Headdress ornament composed of an embroidered floral design in pink, green and off-white framed by an ovoid of paper that has been painted gold. A short coil and stem emerges from the narrower end of the ovoid.
Roughly pentagonal-shaped fabric panel backed by a piece of undyed burlap-like fabric. Front of piece consists of bands of alternating colours of fabric sewn in a chevron pattern; a large central bat figure covers most of the piece. Bat is embroidered with green, red, pink, and metallic gold thread and trimmed on all sides with ecru-coloured fur. Convex, circular, silver-coloured metal pieces are sewn along the strips of fabric. Two fabric ties are attached at both the upper and lower corners of the left side.
Lined, roughly rectangular panel with a curved bottom edge. Surface consists of bands of different coloured fabric sewn together in a chevron pattern, lined with circular metal pieces. A large central figure dominates the panel; a gold, red and green bird executed in metallic embroidery with green glass eyes, trimmed with white fur. Two cloth ties in both the upper and lower corners of one side. Characters written in black and purple on the back lining.
Horse costume consisting of a paper mache mask (a) and rump (b). The mask has two brown vinyl ears, a beige yarn mane, and a neck composed of fabric with a red, black and brown cross-hatch floral pattern on off-white. The rump has a beige yarn tail and a skirt of the same fabric as the neck that runs along the sides and back. Both are built out of papier maché with a bamboo frame and are painted light yellowish-brown with black and white eyes, red lips with white teeth, and bands of white on the rump.
Flag attached to a curved bamboo staff (part e). The flag has bright pink characters on purple ground, with a wide mauve border. The back is unlined. The bamboo staff terminates in a gold head with pale green fringe at the top.
