Plain cloth with blue embroidery. Design at center is of ship with 6 persons, flying two flags, and a fish at bottom and potted flowers at top. Ship flanked by two medallions, one of rider on horse, the other of symbol and insects. Two smaller medallions beside these, one is either worn or incomplete, the other is of vine and flowers. Smaller decorative motifs near each end. At each corner along the bottom is a dragon, and at each top corner is swasztika symbol and flowers (?) Border on all three sides of phoenix and flowers. Hemmed bottom, raw sides, top selvedge.

Pottery horse head covered with a red-brown slip. Ears, eyes, nostrils and mouth are in shallow relief. Teeth are painted white. Traces of white, which appear to be fade-out marks for a bridle are seen around and across the snout. Traces of orange paint are found at nostrils and edges of the mouth. A hole runs through from one side of the mouth to the other.

Glued near centre of each sheet, on longitudinal axis, is a rectangular piece of gold coloured metal foil, printed with the image of a god in red and green, with two Chinese characters in gold on red squares above his head. The area below has been cut in a set of rough geometric designs.

Military Door Gods with GuandaoEdz995 a-b

Pair of rectangular papers, each printed in black outline, with an armed military door god (wu menshen; 武門神), a general with guandao pole weapons (立刀将军) in green, red, and purple. Faces and background are orange. White paper left uncoloured in some places. The Chinese character福 (fu, fortune) appears on the two fluttering flags behind their shoulders. Figures are 65.5 cm high. Part (a) is the figure in a green robe, part (b) is in a red robe.

Door God PrintEdz994 a-b

Pair of rectangular papers, each printed in black outline with a civil officer door god (如意加官), one type of civil door god (wen menshen; 文門神). The door god on part (b) wears a green robe with red and yellow patterns and the name of the printing shop 新元發 (san1 jyun4 faat3/Xīn yuán fā) appears near his face. The door god on part (a) wears a red robe with green and yellow patterns. They both hold a ritual wine vessel known as jue (爵) each. Faces and background are orange. White paper is left uncoloured in places. Figures are 58 cm high. (The gods would normally be shown facing each other.)

Rectangular, cover of beige fabric with indigo embroidery. The design consists of a central plate-like motif with a rim of birds, butterflies, branches and leaves; centre has birds, butterfly, centipede, branch, leaves and berries. On each side of plate is a butterfly with floral designs. The corners have triangular motifs: two are crab and aquatic designs; two are of flowers and butterflies. The ends hemmed in a geometric pattern. Four cotton ties are sewn to the long edges.
