Sioux, Northern Crow or Cheyenne pouch or strike-a-light bag for use by a woman. It might also have been used to carry ration tickets- the small chits handed out by Government Agents entitling people to food rations during the Reservation Period. It is decorated with Venetian beads, sinew sewn. It is Cheyenne in workmanship with a Sioux type design.
Consultants agreed this shirt was probably Metis or Santee (Eastern Sioux) made in the late 1800s. Style derived from Red River Métis sometimes called Eastern Sioux or Crow. Beadwork has long, spidery look i.e. Crow design where the flower sets in. So may be a mix- Métis inspired Eastern Sioux or Crow. Collar was originally navy blue now faded. The shirt might have been made for army personnel, as this was a popular souvenir to acquire.
Beaded bag on the top and on the back of the flap with a fringe around the sides and curved bottom. Main beaded design consists of four green leaf-like shapes bordered by red on a white background bordered by diagonal light blue and mauve bands. A metal button is at the top middle. An abalone shell ? trinket is attached with a metal chain. Red ribbon at either top side.
A skin pouch sheath with thong strap and wooden peg in thong. Metal jingles are attached around edge of pouch. One side has a beadwork design of three shapes on a white background. The top shape is pink outlined with black and having a green triange within at the bottom. The middle shape is blue, red, and blue. The bottom shape is a black, blue, yellow, and green heart.
One rawhide skin moccasin with the sole sewn on and sewn up the back. Fringe at back and on tongue. Cotton binding on top of ankle pieces. Beaded on top with a large green triangle from which emanates two dark blue protrusions on a light blue background outlined with dark blue. The sides are beaded with red triangles having a yellow centre and outlined with dark blue on a light blue background.
Flat wood board with a larger rounded end and a tapered flatter end. Board is covered with very soft doe(?) skin with beadwork. Beadwork consists of three sets of horizontally connected pink, turquoise, and blue sideways tear-drop-shapes across a vertical stem on a white background. The sides have a curved pattern of pink and white triangles outlined with blue. The edges are rimmed with a red wool border.
A skin sheath with metal cones around the sides. One side has a beadwork pattern of an eight-petaled purple-pink and red flower with a purple and dark red bulb and light green and dark green leaves. Two light blue wing-like-shapes outlined in dark blue emanate from the top of the flower. Above, there is a green x-like-shape outlined with dark blue, from which two smaller light blue wing-like-shaes outlined in dark red emanate at the top.
A hollow red pipe with a T-shape (part a), of which one end is shorter and closed and the other end is open and has a long rectangular rim. There is a long stem-shaped wood piece (part b) with three birds coming out of each other's mouths and having eyes of brass tacks.
