Guerisseur Mask3420/20

The mask has a two sunken rectangular spaces within a raised rectangular border, raised jagged-edged nose, rectangular cutout eyes, and pointed ears. The mask is painted with orange-brown and red-brown. Extending up from the head between the ears are two long, slightly curved and spiraled ears or horns. A loosely woven plant fibre net is attached to the back.

Monkey Mask3420/15

Monkey mask carved of wood and painted. The mask has a sunken flat square face, with prominent brow ridge, thin pointed nose, pointed mouth with bright pink lips, small cutout triangular eyes, and pointed ears. The mask is painted with horizontal bands of solid bright pink, blue, yellow, and black. Seated monkey figure has thin curved torso with long arms that hold something in front of its face. The monkey has a pointed muzzle, with a band of bright pink painted across its eyes to its ears, and down its nose.

Mask3420/23 a-c

Wood rectangular face mask (part a) with tall ladder-like superstructure with two breaks (parts b-c). The face mask has two sunken rectangular areas on either side of the nose, and two small cutout square eye holes. Inside, there is a wooden bite bar inserted through holes on sides. Ears extend along each side of the face, with small points extending up. Red plant fibre hair is attached to the back of the mask. Extending from the top of the head, between the ears, is a tall superstructure of panels alternating between various hourglass shapes, and lines, tapering in at the end with a sphere at the tip. The superstructure has split, almost in half, through the sixth panel (part b), and again through the eleventh panel (part c) near the top.

Bird Mask3420/17

Bird mask carved of wood and painted. The mask has a two sunken rectangular spaces, with zigzag side edges, cutout domed eyes, and pointed ears. The mask is painted with an orange-brown and a red-brown. On top stands a bird figure, with its head down and beak attached to the top of the mask. The bird's back and wings exposed. There is twisted plant fibre cord woven into a partial net attached at the back of the mask.

Wood rectangular face mask (part a) with tall ladder-like superstructure. The face mask has two sunken rectangular areas on either side of the nose, and two cutout square eye holes below a rounded brow ridge. Attached to the back of the mask is brown plant fibre hair. Extending from the top of the head, between the blue ears, is a tall superstructure of openwork panels alternating between various hourglass shapes, and lines, tapering in at the end. The superstructure is two sections, split between the fifth and sixth panel (part b). The two sections are tied together with small strips of leather.

Carved and painted mask. The face mask section has a sunken lower face with a strong brow ridge, two triangular cutout eye holes, a thin nose and a small pouted mouth. Large pointed ears extend up and the forehead is decorated with a single raised line down the centre. The superstructure is a female figure with projecting breasts, square shoulders, arms bent at the elbow with one hand on her leg and the other holding a ceramic vessel on her head.

Wooden door carved with central design of one row of two human figures flanking three Kanaga masks, two rows of five large human figures separated by geometric lines. The sides mirror each other, and each have a bird-like creature, a spear, and one large serpent. There are also geometric lines across the top and bottom, and metal joins at top and bottom holding together the two pieces of wood that the door is made from. There are some remnants of white pigment.

Carved and painted mask. The rectangular face section has two sunken rectangular areas on either side of the nose ridge, two rectangular cutout eye holes, and small pointed ears. The forehead is decorated with X's, creating a repeating diamond and triangle design that continues down each side of the face. The designs are painted dark red and black. The superstructure is a female figure with projecting breasts, square shoulders, arms bent at the elbow and held out to the sides. Her left forearm is shaped like a large ladle. She is wearing a red fibre skirt. She has red crest-like hair, and an earring in her left ear.
