Drum3383/14 a-b

Double-headed cylindrical metal drum with off-white rawhide skins at both ends (part a). Interlaced skin ties stretch and secure the skins. A single strip of rawhide is wound through the ties around the centre with a looped handle. Curved wooden drumstick (part b) with flat head. A short length of plant fibre is tied behind the flat head and attached in a notch partway down the shaft.

Drum3383/13

Wood drum with reptile skin. The drum tapers in from the top, and has a cylindrical base. The sides are painted with black and off-white vertical stripes. The skin is secured by two rows of wood pegs, and a notched leather band that wraps around it. One side has two raised areas, one with a metal ring, and the other wire, looped through.

Large rectangular textile. The background is a bright red, with an ornate border on all four sides, which differs in design from the central portion. The designs are dark blue-black, white, and brown. The centre has a large floral design, with smaller, simpler floral designs in each corner as well as each side. Printed text (in English) along the edge of one side.

Necklace3123/44

Round beaded neck ring. Necklace consists of eight to nine strands of small glass beads strung on wire, placed in alternating blocks of colour: dark blue, white, and light blue, each with a line in a different colour at both ends of the block: white, dark blue, light blue, yellow or red. Each colour block is separated from the next by a thick strip of leather. Around the interior of the necklace is a line of larger plastsic beads, round, and coloured light green. Closing mechanism is a hook of wire. A piece of tagging is attached to one leather thong by green string.

Necklace3123/43

Round beaded neck ring. Necklace consists of eleven strands of small glass beads strung on wire and placed in encircling rows, becoming successively smaller in size toward the centre. Colours are a row of light blue on the outside, one row dark red, two rows green, one row red, two rows white, two rows dark blue, and finishing with two rows of red on the interior. Wire is placed intermittently across the rows to hold beads firmly in place. Two strips of leather also serve this purpose, and one holds a small string of twisted cotton.

Thin, elongated, blackened figure wearing a stack of brass neck rings. The bent arms are close to the body and there is a hole through the raised hands. The small square base is made from a different type of wood.

Gaff HookK4.222

Gaff hook made of iron bent at two near right angles with a pointed tip and attached to a wooden shaft by means of fibre rope that wraps around the shaft of the hook and emerges out the side of the wooden shaft through a hole as two twined strands joined with a woven ball at the ends. The wooden shaft is cylindrical tapering towards the butt end where it flares outwards slightly. The wooden shaft is decorated with a burnt poker-work linear and dot design at the neck. Two lengths of wire are secured around the wooden shaft above and below the design.

Woven rectangular quiver (part a) with eighteen arrows (parts b-s). Quiver: light and dark cane woven together. Arrows: rattan (?) shafts with incised designs and long metal points attached at the head (parts b-f); rattan (?) shafts with incised designs, leather fletchings and variously shaped metal arrowheads (parts g-s); five shaft-headed arrows for birds, others for larger animals.
