Yellow textile, printed with repetitive black, white, green, orange and red, star design interspersed with ‘50’ motif , also including the text ‘Ghana Championing African Excellence’. The textile also has a tan border, featuring a repetitive motif design. The side edges are raw and un-hemmed, the top and bottom edges are finished. The top edge also features the words ‘guaranteed superb prints rsp 4615A’. The bottom edge features the words ‘Akosombo textiles limited’ with a motif of the letters ‘ATL’.

Skirt that is part of a three-pece outfit with a blouse (part a) and head wrap (2590/2 c). The fabric has a repeating pattern of blue flowers or pinwheel shapes in the background, and rows of red, blue and white squares with an elephant in blue outline within them, along with text in English. These squares alternate with red text written in Twi. The skirt is ankle-length with an elastic waistband and a 45.3 cm slit up both sides. It is lined with white cotton fabric.

Blouse that is part of a three part outfit with skirt (2590/2 b) and headwrap (2590/2 c). Political Textile2590/4

Large contemporary, commemorative cloth with a repeating pattern, consisting of images of the former President of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings, and Bill Clinton, then President of the USA. Each image is contained within ovals, which open to each other where they meet. Text written under each figure designates their name and rank. The rest of the pattern consists of the Ghanaian flag of red, yellow and green, intertwined with each other and set at a diagonal with a black star at the centre. The background consists of gold mottling. The bottom edge of the cloth has a horizontal black line with vertical black lines, which form small peaks. Cloth is thin with a slight stiffness.

Victory Textile2590/3

Large contemporary, commemorative textile with a repeating pattern of blue geometrical shapes, dots, and horizontal bands of heart-shapes. Along the bottom and top there is red text. Two horizontal rows predominate in the middle. Each alternates an image of a man contained within a red circle with a square red, blue, and white emblem with an elephant with a blue outline in it. Text appears in the circles with the images in black; within the squares in white; in the background in red (not in English). Cloth is thin with a slight stiffness.

Large rectangular piece of fabric made from narrow strips of woven cotton sewn together; white or natural cotton weft with green warp. Two sided supplementary weft patterning in yellow concentric squares, yellow rectangles, complex yellow pattern with stripes and joined hexagons, and red regular rectangles, at regular intervals of 50 to 55 cm. along the strips. Both ends hemmed; edges finished. Typical strip width: 9-10 cm.
