Carving knife with a short steel blade, round metal neck piece and wooden handle. Knife looks as if it may have originally been manufactured/store bought, then modified by hand to fit better. The handle, neck and lower part of blade have red paint remnants and/or splatters. The blade shows major sharpening marks.
Spiral studio sketch book. Soft front cover, cardboard back cover, ten inside sheets, all held together with by a metal coil at one end. First four sheets have pencil sketches on both sides, the rest are blank. The first five sides mainly have small sketches of ovoid forms or eye forms, etc.; the sixth side has an larger sketch of an eagle figure inside an oval; the seventh side has sketches of various tools and fish hooks; the eighth side has an larger sketch of an animal (bear?) inside an oval border.
Cast gold ring. Large beaver face at centre, with a carved leg at each side of the face. Beaver's large teeth extend to lower rounded chin edge; the tops of its ears extend along the upper, flatter edge. There's a notch in the upper edge, above the centre of the face. Slightly stippled surface. Front of ring is quite wide; the band narrows substantially toward the back. (No visible artist inscription.)
Chilkat style robe with woven designs and fringe. The design is in three panels, with an ancestor face in the middle and animal motifs above, below and to the sides. The design is yellow, light blue and dark brown on natural ground. A long twisted fringe of mixed wool and cedar bark hangs from the bottom. Two cotton ties are sewn to the top, along with eight (non-original) cotton twill hanging loops.
Woven basket. Base is constructed of large strips of cedar bark, while sides are woven from smaller strips. Basket is flexible. Two horizontal strips of cedar have been coloured at top just under the rim.
Coiled and twisted cedar bark rope. Coil is held together by a wide strip of bark wrapped around it, in one place, with printing in ink on one end: "3 ply cedar bark made by Hanna Marks 1976".
Black and red button blanket with a large downward facing frog design in the centre. The frog's eyes are small circles of abalone shell. Three full rows of shell buttons demarcate the central black area. There are eight repeating positive/negative designs along the side borders (four each side). There is a rectangular cut out area at the neck. Each bottom corner on the reverse has one of the maker's initials embroidered onto the fabric (D.G. at one corner, R.D. on the other).
Gold bracelet with an oval design at the front-centre. The decoration shows a dove facing right, on a flowering branch inside an incised oval. Both long edges have a plain, linear border. The bracelet is wider at the centre, tapering toward each squared end where it has a single slotted hook clasp. The inside is plain, but has mottled marks over the surface due to the manufacture technique.
Large human mask painted and with leather and copper applique. The eyes rotate and have black eyeballs on one side, and red with copper bands on the other. The pieces of copper sheet are applied in patterns composed of lines, diamonds and eye-shaped sections. The lips and eyebrows are also made from shaped copper, the teeth are painted white and made from wood. The hide arranged in strips down the cheeks, across the upper lip and under the chin could once have had hair, giving the mask a beard. The reverse of the mask has a crossbar for the wearer to grip in their teeth, there are several leather thongs, and a lever attached to leather lines to operate the rolling eyes.; Good
