Elaborately carved pipe with human and animal figures. One human figure is wearing a European frock coat. Uppermost animal figure has some characteristics of a beaver, e.g. large incisors and cross-hatched tail, yet these are subverted , i.e. the incisors protrude from the lower jaw, and the animal has two tails. Equally the other two figures are nonsensical when compared to crest designs (Gillian Crowther).; Good

Elaborately carved stone pipe. Although the catalogue card states, representing human and animal figures , there are no such figures. Rather the representations appear to be of pulleys, rope, and blocks and tackle from a ship' s rigging (G.Crowther); Good

Large heavy almost conical mask painted and carved in the form of a bear or an otter with hinged jaw and inset teeth. The creature has round eyes circled by green, brown and white. The rounded snout has a red nose with curling nostrils, surrounded by a ring of holes that possibly once held whiskers. The lips are painted red, and the lower jaw is attached with a piece of leather. The lower jaw can be moved by a piece of leather running through a groove on the inside top surface of the mask. The bear or otter has very small ears pressed back against its head, giving the creature a very ferocious appearance.; Good

A human mask carved in wood with an open prognathic mouth set with operculum shell teeth. The mask has prominent black eyebrows, large black eyes, a small slightly flared nose and an open oval mouth with four teeth. The mask has a face-painting design on its surface which is composed of a band of intersecting diamonds across the nose and under the eyes, the eyes and chin are surrounded by pale blue. The ears are stylised and painted red. The inside of the mask is also painted with a red band of linked triangles at the upper edge.; Good

A very fine mask of a woman carved in wood with inlaid haliotis shell eyes and teeth with a labret in the lower lip. The mask has prominent black eyebrows, a shapely nose with incised nostrils, the eyes are inlaid with discs of haliotis. The maskhas stylised ears which are painted red, and the open mouth has one remaining piece of haliotis, and the lips are also painted red. The mask has elaborate asymmetrical face-painting designs in black and pale blue. Part of the face-painting appears tobe fin-like and stretches across the nose and one cheek, having a cross-hatched portion and an eye. The upper edge of the mask is slightly damaged.; Good

Broken hook made from two bent pieces of wood lashed together with root. The barb is the sharpened end of one section of bent wood and is strengthened by a knotted cross piece of root. The hook has a length of rope tied to the lower arm which would have secured it to the weighted line. The lower arm tapers off into a small carving of a bird, possibly a raven.; Good

Three halibut hooks made from bent hemlock and lashing of spruce root. A) Has a bone barb, B) an iron barb, and C) a bone barb.; Good

Two whalebone daggers. A) The dagger has a rounded pommel end with the head of a creature which has rounded eyes and an open mouth, it is possibly a seal, an otter or a worm. The handle has been wrapped in a piece of fur covered leather, some of the fur has worn away. The blade of the dagger has three grooves running down its length. The back of the dagger is undecorated. B) A whalebone dagger with the head of a creature carved onto the elongated pommel. The creature resembles a shark, with many gill slits on its forehead, down turned eyes and mouth, the mouth however does not have the characteristic pointed teeth. The handle has been wrapped with newspaper, bound in place with a length of leather thong. The newspaper is very decrepit and the thong is loose. The blade has a slightly raised undecorated section, and three grooves running down its length. The back of the dagger is undecorated.; Good

A bark beater carved from whalebone. The handle of the beater is double ended, one being longer, and the other shorter with a round ended groove cut into its end. The slightly flared rectangular beater section has a cavity through its centre. Theunderside of the beater is scored with fourteen parallel grooves.; Good
