Dark brown circular basket (a) with a square base and a flat, fitted lid (b). Basket woven in herringbone pattern; bent wood pedestal attached to base. Bent wood also on rim.
The basket has a square base with the lower sides square flaring outward into a circular rim of bent wood. Dark brown colour.
Natural colour, cylindrical basket which narrows from one end to an indented neck at the other. A piece of coconut shell is fastened across the top of narrowest end with plant fibre and a piece of indigo coloured thread of twined plant fibre is attached near the open end. Inside there are two round sets of prongs which point back towards the coconut shell. The smallest circle occurs midway, while the other occurs one third of the way from the open end.
Roughly cylindrical woven trap. Trap slopes in gently at the shoulder each vertical strip terminating in a knob of thick dimensions at the upper lip. A coconut shell half is fitted into the upper end and is secured with two narrow strips of bamboo (?). Three ends of these strips are incorporated (at equidistance) into the main body. The loose fourth end is single-knotted to the other strip above the shell. Inside the trap is a conically shaped structure incorporated into the trap's main body and terminating two-thirds of the way up the trap's length in vertical, pointed bamboo (?) slats. A similarly shaped, but shorter and less funnel-like structure is located within the trap's lower edge. A single strip of bamboo (?) is incorporated into the trap and wound around itself, thus forming a handle.
The overall shape of the basket is oval, rising from a rounded base. The bottom two-thirds are separated from the upper third by a 2.5 centimeter band of string-like bamboo strips woven in a diagonal pattern. The bottom two-thirds is woven with strips of bamboo, the upper third is woven with one centimeter bands of string-like bamboo rising to a braided two loop closure. Straps of approximately one centimeter in width and sixty centimeters in length permit this basket to be worn like a knapsack on the back. The colour is of tones of brown in a mottled effect from usage. The basket has a typed label on it 'Knapsack from Kiangan, Mountain Province'.
Black wooden shield with three dowel-like projections at the top and two at the bottom. Centre of shield is raised, with a lozenge-shaped boss at the middle. Two bands of cane braid run horizontally across each end. Indented hand hold on reverse.
Cotton and wool sash consisting of horizontal bands of red, yellow, white on a black background. The ends have an orange and yellow, chevron patterned band followed by orange, yellow and black fringe.
Cotton sarong consisting of a red ground with horizontal stripes varying in width. The centre has two thick navy stripes with thinner black and white stripes intermixed. The ends have a navy and red vertically striped band followed by red and yellow wool fringe, composed of three stripes sewn together.
