The carving is of a human face and is overall green in colour with white speckles. It has a wide nose, two carved eye sockets and a small carved slit for a mouth. There is a handle-like extension that reaches from the back of the head to the back of the neck. Inscriptions on the underside of the base say: "T-Sharky," has a letter 'c' in a circle with the number "89" next to it, and is followed by Inuit syllabics.

Off-white whalebone base (part a) with 15 carved grey soapstone animals (parts b-p) that stand on top, with yellow-white coloured pegs that fit into holes on the base. Part b is a bear, part c is a narwhale, part d is a dog or wolf, part e is a sealion, part f is a caribou, part g is a rabbit, part h is a seal, part i is a seal, part j is a bird, part k is a whale, part l is a fish, part m is a bird, part n is a wolf, part o is a bird, and part p is a muskox. Parts q and r are carved bone antlers from the caribou (part f).
