Mask depicting a laughing human face which represents Sanbasō (三番叟; third okina elderly person), also known as Kokushikijō (黒色尉/黒式尉; black okina). The mask has an open mouth, white chin beard, eyebrows, and moustache made of hair. The face is dark brown with red lips as well as eye, nose, and mouth openings. It has a movable chin (切顎; kiriago) connected by white cords. An "A" is inscribed inside, at the side of the chin.

Form swells gradually with corrugations indicating inadequately smoothed coils, from a flat round unglazed base without foot ring, to rounded shoulder; short neck with flaring rounded lip, wide mouth; red-brown ware. Thick green ash glaze covers jar evenly nearly to base; areas of darker splotches; spots of red-brown matte paint which may be remnants of characters; glossy crackled glaze, pitted and gritty, seriously degraded at junctions of underlying coils in shoulder area as well as in main body area; large patches of light ochre yellow dripping from shoulder area to just short of base.

Roughly rectangular: bottom has unglazed shallow circular foot 7.3 cm. in diameter, showing light red-brown body; some splashes of light grey-green glaze in thick glassy drops. Broken edges of sherd vary from 1 to 1.5 cm. in thickness. Sherd curves shallowly upward in all directions from foot; finished piece possibly large plate. Upper surface painted in iron underglaze with a shrimp, incomplete. Grey-green glaze pitted and flawed, pools to white around slightly convex centre area.

Rectangular form of fine white porcelain: vertical sides first swell from low unglazed foot, then curve in slightly at rim; indented corners. Pattern: divided diagonally from point near upper-right corner to point near lower-left corner; area to left glazed in glossy red-brown, which wraps from the inside over the outside surface to top of foot; area to right painted in underglaze blue with a landform supporting a composition of bamboo, pine, and prunus, with a cloud form above; on each of the two adjacent outside surfaces a motif of two cash with ribbons in underglaze blue; all shapes rendered with dark blue outlines filled with light blue washes; all covered in a minutely pitted white glaze. On glazed base, well rendered underglaze blue characters read 'Dai men nen sai' meaning 'Made in the Ming Dynasty' (Chinese dynasty, 1368-1644). Junction between brown and white glazes marred on outside by a grey-brown splotch extending over foot to base; repaired crack running through sidewall in area of landform painting.

Eight-lobed Kakiemon style dish, everted lip, fine white porcelain body: low foot rim unglazed; base glazed, only two spur marks apparent, underglaze blue line at junction with foot. Interior: blossom spray on bottom asymmetrically placed, outlined and painted in underglaze blue, separated from walls by double underglaze blue lines; walls have scattered landform shapes in overglaze enamels, blue, green, and yellow as well as red prunus blossoms; double underglaze blue lines at lip. Exterior walls: double underglaze blue lines at junction with foot, and one above; scattered overglaze blue blossoms, outlined in black.

Low relief design of landscape with monkeys in mountain caves at bottom on face, and one monkey in a mountain cave with only head and arm showing on reverse. Oval-shaped sword guard with dark brown patina, four-lobed edge and raised rim. Triangular hole at centre with a three-lobed hole to one side, and an ovoid hole to the other side. One face has a low relief design of a prunus tree with blooms, and the reverse has a prunus tree with scattered bamboo leaves. Some gold overlay. The design includes an open area where the tree branches appear to pass through the hole. Nakago ana adjusted by chiselling and metal inserts; kodzuka and kogai open.
