Bowl529/18 a-b

Lidded bowl with vertical sides and raised foot. Pot is unglazed porcelain and has decoration in relief of two cliffs connected by a bridge with gold detail painted on. Three Japanese characters are incised into surface to left and above design. Lid is slightly domed and has central know that is painted gold. Lid is held in place by a lip on underside of the lid.

Tea Cup529/16 a-b

Porcelain cup with plastic lid. Cup is tall and narrow with angular indent at centre of body. It is decorated on the outside with a brown platform held by scaffolding; on either side of platform are banners, three to the left and five to the right that go up in a diagonal line from the base of the scaffolding. To the left of the design are two Japanese characters in black above one character in red. Lid is domed and undecorated black.

Olive green coloured silk sash or obi, brocade with an overall pattern. The pattern has small roundels with floral and bird motifs in multiple coloured threads, predominately gold, black, blue and red. The back is lined with olive green silk.

Kimono2656/3

Cream silk komon (小紋) with a purple stripe pattern. The neck and centre opening are edged with a wide patterned band. The sleeves are short with hanging panels and an opening under the arms. The pattern has vertical stripes with pointed and beveled ends in light and dark purple. The neck band is lined with cream striped silk and four strings have been stitched to create loops on the inner back.

The first piece is a mask (part a) with a red face with wispy black bangs and hair on the side, feather-like shaped eyebrows, small thin cut out eyes, cut out nostrils, and an open cut out mouth with teeth. The second piece is a cloth bag (part b) with a floral design of green, orange, and brown on a cream-coloured background. The bag has two ties, one on the side and the other on the overlaying flap to tie and close the bag together.

A wood reel like object with four rectangular bars; each pair is connected diagonally from its partner with two perpendicular oval-like wood pieces. There is a hollow cylindrical piece at the centre which allows the object to rotate and open.

Woodblock Print2661/1

Woodblock and painted print of two birds on a branch. Two small birds sitting on a two pronged black branch. Birds have white breasts, brown heads, and light orange-brown spots on their backs. Birds also have block wings and tail feathers. The leaves of the branch are light blue, green, grey, and orange. In the lower right corner, there is a round artists chop with two black calligraphy characters above it. The print is vertically rectangular.

Bowl1273/2

Bowl with round foot ring and zigzag sides and rim. Interior is decorated with a landscape of houses, trees, water, and hills on a light green ground; top of sides is a darker green. Exterior is decorated with alternating similar designs of mountains and trees at the point where darker and light green glazes meet. Mark in dark blue at centre of base.
