An arrow shaft, 86.5 cm. long, made of a variety of pitpit (sword grass). The shaft is red-brown with black coating. The fore-shaft of the black palm wood is 13 cm. long between the bindings. At the joint, with the shaft, there is a sleeve of woven rattan 1 cm. wide. The foreshaft is bound to the point coated with grey clay. The long bone point protrudes 14 cm. beyond the binding.

An arrow shaft, 62.5 cm. long, made of a variety of pitpit or sword grass. The shaft has black coating. The round foreshaft of black palm wood is 25.5 cm.long between bindings. Bound at the insertion into the shaft, there is a sleeve of woven rattan 2 cm. wide and to the point with a band of bark cord 5.5 cm. wide. The palm wood is bound with a narrow sleeve of woven rattan less than 1 cm. wide. The foreshaft is also bound with a narrow sleeve of woven rattan. The bark cord band is coated with grey clay. The point is a solid round bone projection 12.5 cm. beyond the binding and coated with a black substance.

A rounded knitted headdress drawn in around the edges on a string. Top has a rounded rectangular panel, 19 x 17 cm, knitted in a ribbed pattern. Ribs have been coloured red and white with ochre and clay.

RattleIe327 a-e

A rattle made of four tubular seed pods (parts b-e), each about 31 cm. Long with a 2 cm. diameter, dark brown and loosely bound together with coarse plant fibre cord ( part a). The tubes have seeds inside. The end of one tube (part b) is plugged with plant fibre like the cord, the end of the next tube (part c) is plugged with white plant pulp while the end of another tube (part d) is plugged with soft brown paper (?), and the end of the last tube (part e) is plugged with paper(?) at one end and plant fibre or bark at the other.

A smooth, light green and dark green stone that has an oblong rectangular shape with both sides slightly curving convexly, although one is a bit flatter than the other and tapering at an angle, creating an edge at one end which is more flared than the other more rounded end.

A piece of pearl shell that is crescent shaped and that has 8 cm. between the points where there is a hole bored. The convex side is pearly-yellow while the concave side is pearly-white. Irregularly coated and encrusted with red ochre. Attached to the holes, there is a band knitted of local fibre, 60 cm. long, and 5 cm. wide. To one end, there is attached a cord 5 cm. long. The other attachment has been broken and is affixed to the shell with nylon string. The band is coated with red ochre. To each end, there are affixed two cowrie shells. At the midpoint, there are three transverse ribs. Near these, there is affixed a clump of fur.

A bailer shell, white on the convex surface, with an irregular brown coating on the concave surface. Triangular shape with rounded corners and one corner notched. Five holes are bored near the two upper corners. Through two of these, there has been strung a double length of cheesecloth 61 cm. long. The cheesecloth is coloured with yellow clay.
