Container1571/3 a-b

Shallow container with incurved sides and a tall, flared foot. Foot has four rectangular perforations around sides. A protruding band runs around the shoulder. Part b is a domed lid with a central flared ring knob. The knob has three rectangular perforations in its sides; a slightly indented band runs above a protruding band just above the rim.

Bowl1455/11

Bowl with slightly incurved sides and raised foot ring. Exterior is decorated cream on grey with three bands of recessed decoration, one of circle and hook designs, one of flower designs, and one of bird designs; each band is separated by two thin, white, horizontal lines. Interior is undecorated and has highly crackled cream glaze.

Doll1053/1 a

Doll (part a) that came in a glass case (parts b-c). The doll is a Korean drum dancer with her black thread hair tied in a bun at the back of her head near her neck with a green stick holding it in place, and a wearing a red headdress rimmed with yellow and decorated with a yellow feather-like decoration at the top and silver and blue metal flowers and gold and orange metal flowers along the sides with a pearl-like bead at the centre. She has pearl earrings. Her robe is green at the top with a red rim which has a gold floral pattern, and red at the bottom with a gold pattern. Her shoes are red and rimmed with gold. She is holding a red and yellow drum diagonally with her right hand and her left arm is curved upward and out. She is standing on a flat black rectangular wood base. Plaque on case reads: "Presented by / Korean Consul General / August 1985".

Paper Money335/28

Two Korean bills attached to each other and covered in a plastic(?). The denominations are a green one-hundred hwan and a brown-black five-hundred hwan. The faces of the bill that are visible are the reverse of the one-hundred hwan with Independence Gate, and the obverse of the five-hundred hwan with Lee Sung-man.

A long curved-tipped metal knife with three metal rings on top and two metal rings on the bottom, equally spaced, dangling a flat metal heart-shaped piece. There is another metal ring on the bottom near the tip end. The rounded wood handle is painted red with a circular knob at the end from which dangles a metal ring. There are three flat metal circles of gradually diminishing sizes with rimmed with dots that are in between the handle and the blade.

Three figures sitting cross-legged in a row with halos carved out around them onto the ornate compacted deltoid part of which the figures sit in front. Writing characters are inscribed on the back side of the ornate compacted deltoid part. There is a circular base decorated with petal-shapes on the side.

Flat FanN3.48

Flat fan made of finely-split bamboo flaring out from its attachment point to a long wooden handle painted black. Perimeter of fan is circular except for the lower edge where the handle is attached, which is straight and at right angles to handle. Fan is covered with lacquered paper on both sides, patterned with a design of four triangles radiating from centre. The top triangle is red, the one where the handle attaches is yellow, and the two at the sides are green. The area where the triangles meet is covered with a black circle enclosing an even cross. In each of the quadrants thus formed is a line going in from the edge of the circle parallel to one arm of the cross, then bending at a right angle and curving to follow the outline of the circle. The area surrounding the handle on one side is covered with a grey paper cut, and the area immediately surrounding the handle is painted orange. The fan inserted into a split in the handle, which is shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with two rivets.
