Carving3123/27

Tall, thin openwork carving. The carving sits on a small oval base and rises in several levels of "v" and inverted "v" shapes to a thin, roughly triangular block at top. Incorporated into the V shapes are three animal heads (bats?) with protruding cone-shaped eyes and finely carved snouts. The wood is densely grained.

A human-like figure standing on a base. The face is a long thin pointy oval with a bald head, a high nose, a compressed mouth, and a chin. The long arms rest at the sides of the body and the legs are fairly short. The figure is carved with clothing around the bottom portion of the body.

Three dimensional helmet mask with black simulated hair at crown, and a bright yellow painted face in low relief with extensive black painted linear designs that are roughly symmetrical. The eyes and eyebrows are emphasized with black paint, and the mouth is painted red with several thin teeth and a central thicker piece of wood and metal representing the front teeth. There is a blue stone in a metal setting attached to each earlobe.

Tall wooden drum. Smooth cylindrical wood; hollow; tapering from top to base. Light brown in colour; mottled brown hide stretched and tied with fibres to top, secured to pegs extending from side. A raised wide band near the base has six vertical bands of incised triangles; edges of band coloured black. Base flares from narrowest point, edges coloured black. Yellow chalk mark beneath base.
