Mask2655/63

Red-black coloured demon(?) face with two snakes carved around the perimeter of the face from the jaw to the forehead and from the forehead to the chin. One snake's head is raised from the main body of the mask and has black-coloured dots on it with a slight green colour showing through the red. The other snake covering the mask's left side is brown coloured with green and blue colour showing through. Oval eyes are slanted inwards and are white-grey with black pupils. Mask has a large protruding nose with flared nostrils and looks animal-like. The mouth is open with tongue extended and two large white-grey hooked teeth face upward. On the upper portion of the inner mouth are two large circular holes and three smaller holes.

Square-shaped mask with large hand obscuring face. Cut-out eye socket located between the hand's thumb and index finger. The hand is carved in relief and at its centre, has a number "5" carved on its surface. On each of the finger's knuckles is a carved swirl design. The piece has faded white paint(?) or accretions at left side, near the bottom and on the back of the mask.

Square-shaped mask with large hand obscuring face. Cut-out eye sockets located between the hand's thumb and index finger and between the pinky finger and ring finger. The hand is carved in relief and at its centre, has a number "2" carved on it's surface. Below the thumb is a smaller human face carved in relief that has defined eyebrow ridges, a large triangle-shaped nose, a wide closed mouth and a tapered chin. The piece has white paint(?) or accretions over its surface which is more predominant on lower end of the mask and on the underside of the mask.

Green, triple-nosed mask with white-tipped spikes at beard, sideburns, eyebrows, and hair. Each nose curls up at end to red and black stripes and white tip. Areas that are spikes have black ground and there is a red ring at the base of each spike. Eye holes between eyes and eyebrows. Mouth is M-shaped and red; eyes are white with brown irises and black pupils and they are lined in red and black; cheeks are yellow.

Ears are attached to head with nails and adhesive and have fur inside them; eyes are holes lined in red paint and hair held on by wax; hair on forehead held on by adhesive tape; mouth has real teeth inserted into holes in the wood; nostrils are holes lined in red and black. Small holes at sides and top.

Green coloured devil/animal mask with articulated jaw and row of white teeth. On the snout, there is a white lizard design carved in relief, and cut-out oval eyes with green oval-shaped pieces of glass(?) located above each eye. There is a snake design carved in relief on either side of the jaw that extends from the base of the snout to the top of the eyes. Thick horns on the forehead curve inwards and are painted with bands of red, green and white alternating stripes. Four hair strands flow over the forehead from the top of the mask.

Red human portrait mask. Crescent-shaped cut-out eyebrows with unpainted brown eyes. Nose is slightly pointed and worn at the tip to expose light-coloured wood. The smiling mouth is closed. The chin tapers to a rounded point. There are two small holes on either side of the mask, each on the side of the forehead on the top and each parallel to the mouth on the side. One hole is in the middle of the forehead near the rim.
