Mask2655/25

Carnival mask with a white forehead that has a black triangular pattern on the top with black eyebrows and eyelashes that have a hole made underneath each. The rest of the face is black with a protruding red mouth. The bulging black eyes are outlined with red. The sides of the face are carved in a zigzag pattern, making high pointed cheek bones and a protruding chin. There are two holes at either sides of the mask along the eye-line.

Black human-like mask. Around the perimeter of face there are large burgundy coloured triangles and semi-circles that are outlined in yellow. The eyebrows are carved in relief, are gold in colour and have black line designs on them. The eyes are gold coloured and have black pupils and have cut-out slits above the eyelids. The mouth is small and slightly opened and has a gold and black coloured moustache above it and a small gold and black coloured beard that is surrounded in a burgundy and yellow circular design.

A bull with a pink face and horns attached to protrude outward at an angle. The upraised hair is carved with vertical lines. Four black horizontal lines are carved and painted on its brow. The eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, and mouth are black. Two square holes are cut out above the eyes.

Wooden mask painted red and gold. Red face with oversized protruding curled nose. The face has rectangular-shaped gold eyebrows, white eyes with blue pupils, black line markings around the eyebrows and eyes, gold circular designs on cheeks with black line markings around the perimeter, long rectangular-shaped gold moustache with black line markings around the perimeter, and small pink closed lips. A gold circular design is also found on the chin with black line markings around the perimeter.

White coloured devil face mask. Mask has large ears that taper at the tips and widen at the bottom. Black coloured triangle designs are found around the rim of the ears and a red coloured oval shape is found in the centre of each ear. The face has large eyebrows carved in relief that curve upwards, the eyes has large oval cut-out slits that taper at the outer end, the eyes are oval shaped and have black pupils and red outlines. The nose is triangle-shaped and the mouth is outlined in the colour black, with red lips and there are two white fangs on the top gum and two smaller fangs on the lower gum. The cheek bones are accented with black painted inverted triangle shapes on either side. On the inside of the mask at the rim is an inscription in pencil: Povez Lopez.

Black and orange eagle(?) helmet-type mask with a brown coloured opened beak. The mask is round on top and curves down towards the back to a upturned tapered point. The beak is opened wide so that the inside is exposed. The eyes are not well defined but are found below the brow ridge and above the opened beak.

A mask with a tan face and holes cut out underneath the eyebrows. The glass eyes are a dull green and hair has been used for the eyelashes. The mask has a black moustache with red lips and white teeth. A yellow fibre goes through four holes, two at either side of the top of the mask, attached to pillow-like bags for the wearer's head.

Mask with orange coloured face and well-defined forehead with carved black coloured grooves. Eyes are inverted triangle-shaped and extending from the sides of the forehead. Under the eyes and across the cheeks are two teal coloured, lizard-design carvings meeting each other face to face in the middle of the brow ridge. The mouth is wide and shows white coloured teeth carved in relief and outlined in black.

Portrait mask with long and pointed protruding nose, black coloured arched eyebrows, carved inset eyes with cut-out slits above them, scalloped horn-like carvings on either side of head next to eyebrows, round cheeks, cut-out mouth and nostrils, and black coloured protruding cone-shaped mustache with spiral grooves. The horn-like carvings have fibre tassels attached to the top and an attached metal bell on each.
