Band of curled plant fibre with white clay and black painted triangle design along the edges. The plant fibre is lashed together on the reverse with strips of wood(?).
Large mask made from wood fibre with a painted clay cover. Conical shape. Eyes are a double "6" shape with white, black, and brown concentric circles. Nose is broad and cross shaped, leading to a large open mouth. Pointed ear projections with curving ridges joining ears with top of mask. Fringed skirt around perimeter at base.
Flute consisting of a large piece of bamboo, bound with two sets of fibre ties and two cassowary feather rings at the top, middle and bottom. The stop of the flute is a carved kneeling man facing outwards with a large, crooked beak bird standing behind him with its chest pushed out and its wings behind its back standing on a jagged board. The bird and human figure has inlaid cowrie shell eyes and are detailed with white and brown pigment. The figures, the bamboo and the fibre ties on the bamboo are covered in a black stain.
Carved wood drum with an hourglass-like shape. There is a rounded, rectangular shaped handle on the side; opposite is a carved, cutout design of two bird figures. The central surface is detailed with an incised geometric design with white pigment in the cuts. Reptile skin is resting on the top of the drum; binding is missing.
Carved wood ancestor mask consisting of a head with an elongated brow; a long nose, mouth. The top of the head is decorated with cassowary feathers and two rows of cowrie shells. The forehead, sides and chin of the face are painted with black pigment and are inlaid with rows of numerous small shells. The face is decorated with white and black detailing on a brown ground. There is a long, cylindrical shaped piece of wood that stretches from the bottom of the nose to the bottom of the mask that makes up the body of a crocodile; on the end is the reptiles head which faces downwards. The lower sides and bottom are lined with small bundles of sennit fibre.
Figure depicting a standing female decorated with red seeds on the eyes and stomach, a fibre fringe threaded through the nostrils, and stained dark brown overall. The figure has a painted face in white and yellow as well as stomach and chest markings in white. She wears a sennit fibre skirt with tufts of sennit fibre at the top of the head. Decorated with feathers at the neck and front right leg.
Brown wood paddle that has a long cylindrical handle slightly tapering to a carved crocodile head. Geometric incised lines are carved on the handle near the paddle end. The blade has an elongated ovate shape.
Carved wood mask consisting of an oval shaped head with long thin strands of sennit ? fibre hanging down the sides and back. The face has a large, protruding forehead with a small crocodile carved in relief. The brow is triangular and hangs over the large round, shell inlaid eyes. The nose is raised, long and narrow with large holes through the septum which hold two pieces of fibre twine. The mouth is small and cut deep. Tattoo-like lines of incised dots run over cheeks. Attached to the sides of the head are small sections of fibre rope with fibre loops. The underside is hollow. There is a fibre tie at the top of the mask. The wood is stained black with a brown pigment over top.
Mask constructed of a ceramic and wood face painted in white, reddish-brown and black with inset cowry shells around the edge and twined plant fibre strung through the ears and nostrils. The back of the mask is formed by strips of split branches lashed together. Tufts of black cassowary feathers adorn the top of the face. A long plant fibre fringe is attached along the lower edge of the mask.
Carved wood drum, cylindrical shape narrowing in centre. Open end in shape of a crocodile with open mouth. Sharp teeth, pointed snout with pointed ridges along back. Eyes outlined in red seed, fibre tie through open nostrils. Centre part has geometric band paintings and handle. Other end has stylized face with red seed eyes. The open end of the drum is covered with snake skin. Drum is painted white, brown, black and light brown.
