Pudding Knife2832/7

Carved dark brown-black wooden pudding knife. Paddle-shape blade is flat and broad at base tapering to a pointed end. Above the blade there is a hilt with one upward facing and one downward facing head on each outer side. Faces have inlaid white opalescent shell eyes and mouths. Heads are edged with a sinuous raised line that crosses to form an X on the top and bottom hilt sides. Handle is cylindrical tapering outwards to the end with a flat top. Tied around the handle is a dark brown-black braided plant fibre string knotted at the end to form a loop.

Pudding Knife2832/6

Carved wooden pudding knife. Paddle-shape blade is flat and broad at base tapering to a pointed end. Above the blade there is a hilt /handle bordered with oblong shapes containing nine stacked flat circular shapes of decreasing size from the largest circle closest to blade to the smallest closest to top. Each circle has two circular holes (eyes), and the knife is topped with a tall oblong hat-like shape with brim.

Above the blade there is a hilt/handle comprised of three sections bordered with oblong shapes; the first two sections closest to the blade are lozenge shaped with the same shape openings; the third section is an oval with two half-oval openings. The knife has a diamond shaped top with a crescent opening.

Above the blade there is a hilt bordered with oblong shapes containing an oval with serrated edges and a circular hole in the middle; above this the handle is a long oval with serrated outer edges that tapers to point at the hilt end, with an open centre of the same oval shape.

The section closest to the blade is a lozenge shape with two triangular openings; the middle section has two facing crescent shapes connected with a central rectangle of wood; the third section is an oval with two half-oval openings. The knife is capped with an eye-shaped opening with a serrated top.

Small, heavily glazed dark reddish brown clay pot. The rim flares out slightly from the neck, from which relief coils wind down to join a coil around the belly of the bulbous body with small flat base. Small punches into the clay form wavy lines that fill the upper area.
